Our worship is grounded in tradition but responsive to our time – weekly Communion, Gospel-centered, Scriptural preaching, with traditional and contemporary liturgies.
Music is a big part of our worship experience. We are blessed to claim many talented musicians in our membership who provide both vocal and instrumental accompaniment on occasion. All who like to sing are encouraged to join our adult choir. And our Sunday School children also perform regularly.
Ascension’s Sunday Schedule:
"Early Praise Communion," 8-8:50 a.m.
Alternative, casual worship style with contemporary music
Service of Holy Communion, 10:00 a.m.
A more formal, traditional worship experience, although it includes music from all ages
Note our summer schedule:
From Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend we have one worship service at 9:00 a.m.
We have special services on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Ash Wednesday and during Holy Week. During Lent we hold Lenten Midweek Services of Evening Prayer on Wednesdays from 7:30 to 8:00 p.m., with a soup supper the hour before.
We welcome children to worship and regularly include children's sermons. At our 10:00 a.m. service, Ascension offers nursery care for infants and toddlers, and activities for children ages 3 to 7 during the sermon.
