With a sanctuary of amazing acoustics and a magnificent 20 rank Casavant Frères Pipe Organ, Ascension Lutheran takes pride in a historic tradition of inspiring music. A singing congregation, the choirs and instrumentalists of the church lead the liturgy, psalms, hymns and spiritual songs of the Lutheran tradition and add a wide variety of music expressions to the weekly worship. The Ascension Church Choir led by Director Dan McDaniel, sings at most 10:00 AM services from Labor Day through Pentecost Sunday as well as providing special music for festival and seasonal services of the church. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 PM in the Choir Room.
The Ascension Handbell Choir plays as scheduled for worship and seasonal services from Labor Day through Pentecost Sunday. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings at 6:15 PM.
The ability to read music is helpful, but not required and everyone is welcome to participate in either choir. The talented instrumentalists of Ascension Lutheran add their talents to worship services throughout the year and fill in for the choir during the summer months. Often they join with the choir on special anthems. Please notify music Director Dan McDaniel for inclusion. For more information about our pipe organ, click here: Organ.pdf |
