Congregation Retreats
Ascension has a tradition of holding annual congregational retreats for adults and children. Topics have ranged widely, from “Food in the Bible” to “Cycles of Sacred Time” to “Christianity Across the World” to “Green Congregations – Caring for the Environment.” Whatever the topic, the retreat schedule intentionally provides for adult and children’s activities as well as intergenerational time. Providing education and fellowship, retreats are usually held over a weekend at retreat centers, such as the Lutheran Outdoor Ministry Center (LOMC) in Oregon, Illinois. Scholarship money is available.
